I listen to certain shows with very low expectations, and I'm enjoying the hell out of this one today. Not gonna melt your mind, but a fun listen with Jerry sounding surprisingly good on the comeback trail.

I like this run as well. One reviewer points out on an aud recording that Billy yells to Weir before the encore, "Hey Weir why don't we go back into Playin' again?"

December 86 is interesting...very filtered sound on the vocals, kind of a crispness in the sbd's...good energy...12-15 obviously has highlights, 12-16 is a nice show...12-28 has Garcia really stepping out more... check out Fire...finally 12-30, the best December 86 show...Cumberland, Althea, Ship of Fools...

Thanks for the recc. I never listen to this era, but your post prompted me to put it on, and it sounds great! Nice tight little Playin' opener. Not bad at all.
